A day of Firsts!

This year Jeff and I decided to let the two oldest kids join leagues in the sport that they want to play. We have never done this before but the kids are so excited. Monkey decided he wanted to play baseball and GG wanted to play soccer. This morning Monkey had his first baseball practice, ever! Jeff stayed and helped with the practice. When they got home Jeff said Monkey did great. The coach kept asking him if he was sure he had never played before! I think he might have some natural talent :) The league he is in is a kid pitch league and one of the requirements is that at least one inning a first time player has to pitch. The coach said that person is Monkey! I think he is a little nervous about it but I think it will be really good for him to get to try his hand at pitching. As soon as they got home we jumped in the van and headed to GG's first soccer game. I am officially a soccer mom. I have been a wanna be for several years now but now can proudly wear the label. GG was a starter today which was pretty cool since she was a late register. I was amazed at how well she did out there. She reminded me a lot of her Auntie Liz playing. At the end of the game they put her in as goalie. That is one spot that I think is the toughest to play as you are responsible for making sure the ball doesn't get past you. She actually did really well stopping the ball and kicking. I think this is a great sport for her. Her team won! It was a great first game and her grandpa M came and watched her play which was extra special. Tonight after dinner we are going to be dying our Easter eggs and then I am going to put together the kids baskets. Another first is going to be that I am going to be hiding their baskets instead of just giving them to them. We shall see how that goes!!! I hope to post the kids in their Easter attire tomorrow.
***Edited to add that my hubby put pictures of the soccer game on his blog! You can check her out in action over there. His link is on the sidebar to the right!***

Our Easter Star!

Here is our little Peanut doing the toddler program at church. I was so proud of her for saying her line! Though she did lift her dress a few times and was the talk of the church afterward but you can't have everything ;)

Here is one of the two songs they sang! Too cute with the motions...

Last but not least is the best shot I got of the kids outside! The header was taken at church...

We are back from our mini vacation and I am exhausted. We left here Thursday and stopped in Rockford before heading to my mom's house. Friday we spent most of the day playing inside and outside. We met my grandma for lunch. I was really glad to get to see her, but I wish grandpa could of come too. I was able to give her the picture we took at Christmas with all 4 generations of girls. It turned out really cute. Then my mom rented some movies for us to watch and none of them were any good. So we ended up talking til 3am and I went to bed that night at 4am because Monkey woke up and then woke GG up and she started coughing. She coughed for an hour before she was able to fall back asleep. Saturday mom took the kids and I shopping at JcPenny's. GG got a summer dress and Monkey picked out a shorts outfit. We had GG try some of the dresses on that we picked out to make sure they fit and looked ok. She is such a ham. She tried the dress on then went to the mirror and did different poses to see if she liked the way it looked on her. She ended up with a really cute red and white checkered dress with flowers on the bottom. Then we went to another store and the kids got some toys from Nana. This was their Easter present from her. GG got Cinderella and Belle Disney princesses that are the same type of thing as the polly pockets. Monkey got another dinosaur and a snake. And they each got a water gun which they can't wait to use!!! They had a pack of two guns, one was purple (GG's favorite color) and the other was green (Monkey's favorite color) so that worked out great!!! We went to Subway for lunch and the kids ate everything. Then we went to my grandparent's old house in the next town over for a family gathering. We got there in time for ice cream, GG got chocolate and Monkey got vanilla. The kids got to play with my cousins' kids so that was fun for them. Then we headed to Rockford again for a surprise Anniversary celebration. That really wore the kids out and me too. There were so many kids there to play with and a lot of good food. I had a hard time getting the kids to leave. We got home at 9:15 just in time to see J for a little bit before he went to work. Then we lost an hour last night of sleep due to the time change. We didn't make it to church because the kids didn't sleep good. Monkey was up for about half an hour and GG was coughing all night. I can't tell if she has allergies or getting a cold. I need to get her and Monkey tested soon.

I can't believe that spring break is half over it is going way too fast for me. Sunday we spent Easter with J's parents after church. GG and Monkey were in the Easter program and they were so cute. Monkey kept pointing at me and telling everyone "There's my mommy!" He is such a little ham. He was also hugging one of his friends while on stage. GG was the loudest one singing. She just loves being in the spot light. When the older kids were singing she was in the pew dancing! She can't wait to be older so she can be in the children's choir. After we ate dinner Liz showed us what she is planning on doing to her room. They were getting rid of her desk, dressers and bed. I asked if I could have the table because I want to use it for scrapbooking. She said sure. We ended up taking one dresser for the baby, the table for me and the bed for GG's room. So the last two hours there was Liz getting everything out of the dresser and taking down the bed so we could bring it home. Monday we switched the kids rooms around. GG's stuff went into the smaller bedroom and Monkey's went into the bigger room because he is going to share it with Red. That was an all day chore let me tell you. I didn't realize how much stuff they each had. We also took the kids to the doctor, Monkey has been breaking out in hives. We are going to have them both tested for allergies sometime in the next month. We also went to my dad's to drop off the organ, that is where we put my new scrapbooking table!!! J washed our van while the kids played outside and I was in the house finishing up the room switch. I was so tired from the long busy day we had and talked J into going to Subway for dinner :) Today I was planning on going through the kids clothes but I just wasn't motivated. So I did the rest of the laundry, went grocery shopping and played outside with the kids for about 4 hours! We had a picnic lunch outside and they were both so excited about that. We also went to the girls soccer practice and played at the park. GG helped with practice and ran after balls for the girls. She loved being able to be apart of the practice, you could just tell from the big smile on her face. Plus, she talked about how she helped the whole way home! It is now 6:30, J is reading books to the kids and then we are putting them to bed. I love having nice weather outside that we can turn off the heat, open up the windows and be outside!!!!!

Happy Easter Everyone! This morning we got up and colored Easter eggs. All of us got so messy with the paint! So we took showers afterwards. I planned on getting messy with the eggs so I thought we should take showers afterwards boy was I right. My fingers still have paint on them and I have been washing them all day. But Easter is only once a year and we all had fun doing it so I don't mind. After we showered we gave the kids their Easter baskets. GG was very excited because it had more candy in it! The girl has been on a sugar high for the past two days. Monkey liked playing with his basket and didn't really care about the things inside of it. Then we went over to the hospital to give our friend Ted (and Joanna) a chocolate Easter bunny. He had to work all day. We also called all the grandparents that are in the US right now to tell them Happy Easter. I think that when I am done on the internet I am going to have GG call Grandma and Grandpa A. and leave a message for them. They are in Italy right now on vacation. Must be nice! For our Easter dinner J made prime ribs and rice it was very yummy. Unfortunately I didn't get to scrapbook today but the day isn't over I might sneak away and do some. We'll see.

I had a very productive day :) We got up and went to Ben's birthday party. Before we left the mail man came to the door with a package for the kids. It was there Easter present from Nana and Grandpa K. GG was thrilled so we called Nana to tell her thank you. Right before we called I let GG have some of the candy and on the phone GG was telling Nana how she bit the candy and chewed it all up. She made movements with the words. It was pretty funny to watch. Monkey got a toy duck! Back to Ben's party...while we were there the kids did a Easter egg hunt and the eggs they got were for there goody bags. I thought it was really a neat idea. Mary gave each of the kids a different color to look for so they all got the same number and toys! We had a lot of fun even though it rained. We came home and the kids took naps while I did some more scrapbooking. I am catching up! I am almost to when Monkey was born :) I think I figured it out to about 6 more pages in GG's before I start Monkey's. I am trying to get all the pictures done so I can show my mom when I go home. She scrapbooks too and we like to look at each others they are nothing a like which makes both of them great! After dinner we went grocery shopping, I know we normally do that on Sunday but with tomorrow being Easter we decided to do it early. We aren't going to church tomorrow because it starts at 6am which would mean that we need to be up at 4:30am, no thank you! I am ok with it because we aren't people who only go to church on Christmas and Easter even though I am sad we aren't going to be able to go. Then tonight I went threw a bunch of stuff to take to the consignment shop on Tuesday. We are trying to keep as little as possible considering we might be moving very soon. J just went to let our friends dog out. The kids are playing in the toy room and being so good. Oh yeah we bought Monkey some oatmeal at the store and gave him some tonight, he loved it. I now feel a little better about leaving him with J for longer periods of time because now he can feed him. Well that was it for us I hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter!
