Schedules

Jeff and I are leaders of a small group at our church. We love this small group as it is couples around the same age as us with children around the same age as ours...ours always being the older of the kids. Anyway in our group we have two police officers, a fireman, and a nurse. Which makes scheduling a nightmare. The nurse is married to one of the police officers so when he is off she works making it all the more difficult. We really do love this group of people I just wish getting together wasn't such a headache. But this isn't the only thing that is hard to schedule. Sometimes I find trying to get together with just one other couple can be just as hard. Which is a bit odd if you think about it. Nonetheless that is the case. There is a couple that Jeff and I have been trying to get together with for over 6 months. I stopped trying to find a date a couple months back and then decided that we should try again and sure enough we are running into the same situation of schedule conflict. The sad part of it all is we really don't do much so our schedule is pretty wide open unless Jeff has something at work he has to do but that isn't a whole lot. Am I alone on this dilemma?

P.S. I'm half way through the month!!!

Chicago Marathon

I'm not a runner (yet) but I have some friends who are running in the Chicago Marathon.

However they aren't just running to run they are supporting a wonderful Christian ministry called Family Empowerment. Please think about supporting them even if you don't know them because they aren't running for themselves but other people. All donations are tax deductible. All money raise goes to the organization too. The marathon is Oct 10th!!! Here is the link to support them. Their names are Valarie and Ken Garrison. Even if you can only do $5 it helps families in need. Thank you for considering! God bless :)

My Adventure in watching 8 kids!

Yesterday we the day we moved all our stuff to storage. I know you are probably thinking but I thought you said you don't have anything. Well we don't but we do. Let me put it this way. We rented a 10 x 10 unit and that was all we needed for everything. We don't have much. The only big things we have are 4 dressers. Anyways, J needed help with 2 of the dressers because they are HEAVY. His friend Jason said he could help the only problem was his wife was at church working and he had the kids. He has 4 their ages are 3, 2 and 8 month old twins. We actually planned the day pretty perfectly. We got to his house as he put all his kids down for a nap and then I laid my two youngest down. One of the twins woke up so I had 3 kids awake. Then she went down for a nap when the 3 yr old woke up. I got there at 2pm and I only had 3 kids up until 4pm and then the others slowly started waking up one at a time. Kristy got home from church at about 5pm so the day was a pretty easy day. The men weren't going to get done until 6ish so we made the kids some food and then ordered Chinese for the adults. The kids played and watched a movie and we got home at 9pm which was really going to be 10pm because of the time change. It really wasn't that big of an adventure because when the babies were awake GG was all over helping with them. She is such a great help I can't say that enough about her. Even Monkey is learning how to help in different ways then her!

Moving too quickly...

This week is almost over and I just can't believe it. Last night I got together with 2 women from my church and we had Starbucks and talked for close to 3 hours. It was great conversation and just a whole lota fun!

Today J surprised me by taking the day off. Though at 6:45am when I rolled over and noticed he was still in the bed I panicked and was then wide awake. He is normally gone by 6:05am. I took the kids to VBS and then came home and we tag teamed some much needed cleaning. Then he took Peanut on an errand while I fixed my hair! After VBS we had a play date lined up with a few different families. We had a picnic at the park and then the kids played. Since J was home he decided with my help to not come to get the kids instead he was going to take Peanut on a bike ride and then put her down for a nap. He ended up showing up at the park with her and played for 30 minutes and then went home to give her a nap. The kids had a great time playing with all the friends that they had at the park and us moms, well I guess I can only speak for myself, had a great time too! We got home about 3:30pm. When we came home our neighbor Jack was outside. He has been outside almost everyday it is nice outside since we moved in 5 years ago. The kids love him and they actually learned to say his name before they learned to say their siblings name. Well about two weeks ago he was having some health issue and ended up admitted at the hospital for a week. After all the tests were run they found that he had stage 4 cancer of the bladder, bone and prostate. He has been home for about 4 days and has been outside 2 times. It is so good to see him back at his "post" waving to all the cars that pass by. He is very weak from his stay because he was in bed for a week straight so he uses a walker to get around. Peanut cried the first time she saw him use it and she calls it his owies. I am not looking forward to the day he is gone and we have to tell the kids.

This past weekend

We went out of town with some friends and had a blast! I have pictures that I am not going to have time to upload tonight, maybe tomorrow. This weekend consisted of driving, the beach, sand castles, playing cards, mini golf, sand dunes, movie, huge bonfire at the beach, s'mores, and just an all around good time! On the way home I dropped J and the two oldest off at US Cellular park to watch the White Sox game and then I got lost in downtown for a good 30 minutes and 10 calls to my father in law later and I was on the right road again.

Peanut happenings: we have soft ball games every Monday night this summer and the park that they play doesn't have a bathroom anywhere around. So I have had to learn how to let her pee in the woods. Well now anytime we go outside and she has to pee she pulls her pants down and wants to go right there! Another side effect of having her potty trained is she undresses so many times a day. I got her dressed 6 times the other day before I finally gave up and told her to put her own clothes on. If you are a facebook friend you know how she puts her swim suit on well that is the same way she gets herself dressed. She put both legs in one whole and then pulled them up to her waist but none of it was covering her private parts.

The Fest 2009

We didn't go the first night because it was really cold. But we went last night the 2nd night and had a blast. We met some friends there and shut the place down at 11pm! Here are some pictures of our fun night and a little video :)

Amy and Peanut were coming down so fast this was the best picture I got! I should of gotten a video. Peanut LOVED the slide :) Tonight I will try and get a video of all 4 kids coming down!

By the time I got the kids home and to bed it was 11:45. They didn't wake up this morning until 10am. So nice.

calling all prayer warriors...

If you are friends with me on facebook you know that yesterday I was incredibly sad. J and I are leaders of a small group at our church and a couple in our group was pregnant with their second baby a boy. She went into pre-term labor at 21 weeks and this sweet little boy was unable to survive. As a small group we have prayed for this baby and even his gender. It is so hard to swallow why this would happen. Please pray for this young family.

I also found out yesterday that a good friend of mine, who is only 29 years old and has two little boys 4yrs old and 18 months old has cancer. They are hopeful to be able to remove it all on Tuesday. Please pray for her, the doctors, and her family as they go through this uncertain time.

It is in times like this that I really look to God for comfort and peace. I know that he is completely in control and has had his hand in each of these situations. It is just so hard to understand. Thank you for the prayers they are very much needed.

today is Tuesday right?

I don't believe I mentioned this but yesterday I moved all the Christmas presents in our room to make some room for the crib mattress to go in the corner so that Peanut will have a bed of her own to sleep in. She has been waking up for 2 to 3 hours a night for the last 2 weeks and we are both exhausted. Well last night she started out in her little bed until about 1am. Then she woke up and instead of walking to our bed she started walking through the house crying. I got up and got her to bring her to our bed. I quick nursed her (I know I was backsliding) and then handed her over to J's side of the bed. She quickly went to sleep and slept the rest of the night!

This morning after taking the two older kids to school Red, Peanut and I went to our friends house to play. Her oldest turned 4 at the end of October so he is about 7 months older than Red but they usually play pretty well...except for today. They had this love/hate relationship they basically hated each other the whole time we were there until I said it was time to go. Then they clung to each other for dear life. BOYS. We were the first to leave because we needed to get to Peanut's doctor's appointment.

At her doctor's appointment Red was a holy terror...I thought about making the appointment for when he was in school but that would be in January and I wanted to get it done so I went today. Since she was a new patient I had so many papers to fill out and Red was climbing on the wheelchairs and playing with the drinking water and bringing Peanut down with him. So annoyed. I even told him at the beginning when we got there if he could be a good boy I would take him out to eat for lunch. Well that didn't happen. Ok back to her appointment. The doctor checked her motion in her hips and he said that looked good. She showed him how she walks and then he had her get an xray. That pretty much freaked her out. They had me take her diaper off and lay her on this cold metal bed and then hold her chest and legs down. The xray showed that everything looked good. The doctor wants to see her in 2 months just to make sure everything is the same or better. That is so good to know that there isn't anything majorly wrong with her hips.

As for me I have decided that I need to start working out. I am so active in the summer and I feel good during those months and then it gets cold and I shut down most phyiscal activity. I did a 20 minute work out today and will probably be really sore tomorrow but tomorrow I'm going to do 30 minutes. We'll see if this helps me. Just wanted to document when I started this journey.

Well going to go serve dinner that just got done and then it is family movie night with Babes in Toyland! Oh yeah couch snuggle time :)

A Day of Friends!

This morning we got up and I made a quick call to one of Monkey's friends and we were on our way to pick him up and meet GG and Red's friends at an indoor play place. There is also a baby girl in their family that Peanut was playing near but not really with! I forgot to bring my camera but the kids had great fun together. The 4 older kids included the two 3 year olds in their play which was so nice. Naturally when the place closed at noon none of the kids wanted to leave each other. We took Monkey's friend home and came home and ate lunch. Then the two little ones took naps. GG and Monkey did a great job staying quiet so that they could sleep.

After dinner GG and I jumped into the car for mom/daughter playdate with her friend Crafty and my friend Kristin. I was totally going to bring my camera but as we were half way there I realized I forgot it. Kristin to the rescue she brought hers :) We didn't tell the girls were we were taking them all they knew was that they got to see each other. On the way GG kept trying to get me to tell her what we were doing and where we were going. I did end up telling her the name of the place so she could help me find it. It is called Color Me Mine and she said, "Color Me Mine? What kind of place is that? That is a funny name." It was really funny the inflection she had in her voice too! As soon as we pulled into the parking lot and she could see in the store she squealed, "Oh I love this kind of a store!" I just went to see if I could pull some pictures from her site and she has updated yet so I will post them when I get them. I want to leave you with this funny video of Red that we took on Sunday. I feel like I must mention before this video was taken Monkey ate a war head and Red saw his reaction to the sourness of it and he still wanted to try it! My sister in law took the video and when he runs out he is running to me and his dad...

I voted!

The first thing I did after taking the two older kids to school was go vote. Then I got a text from my friend wanting to know if I wanted to go see the circus parade. Our playgroup was only going to be me and another mom so I called her and told her I was canceling it and it turned out she was going to be running late anyway. It worked out good. Red, Peanut and I met at our friends house and drove to the place. We got the kids out and they played while we waited. After the animals went by we played at the park and other friends from church met us there as well. Then we started to get hungry and didn't want to leave each other so we went out to eat together! After we ate lunch it was time to get the kids home and down for their naps. I finally went through Peanuts clothes and took out the too small clothes and organized all the other ones. I feel so good about that accomplishment.

I have been wanting to record this for a couple of days now. On Saturday we met my mom, grandma, and brother for lunch at the Olive Garden. We had brought each of our kids a piece of candy and told them they had to behave in the van on the way there and eat all their food in order to get the candy. Red ordered mac and cheese and ate the whole thing! So he was getting candy. Well as the waiter left our check he asked if anyone wanted dessert. All the adults said no and Red shot his hand up in the air and yelled "I do." It was just too cute and funny. We reminded him we had candy for dessert and he was good with that. It was the first time he has done that and quit honestly I'm surprised he hasn't done it sooner ;)

Saddened

I have to say that this morning has to be the worst day ever as a parent. It all started yesterday after school when I picked the kids up. GG came to the van crying. I asked her what was wrong and she proceeded to tell me this. *I have changed the name of the girl*

GG: Rachel stole my money.
Me: What money?
GG: The money that Monkey gave me.
Me to Monkey: Where did you get money from?
Monkey: My friend
Me: Ok so what happened?
GG: Rachel asked if she could put her snack in my lunch box because she had a paper bag for lunch. So I let her. When I was in the bathroom she went into my locker to get her snack and she took my dollar too.
Me: Why didn't you say anything to her or the teacher?
GG: I didn't know she took it until after school when I went to get something out of the vending machine and it was gone. Mom she took it. I know she took it because at lunch there was this little first grader getting something out of the vending machine and her dollar wasn't going in so Rachel helped her. The little first grader got a bag of chips that cost 40 cents and Rachel gave her a dime and kept the 50 cents.

I get home and call her teacher to tell her I will be coming in to school tomorrow to talk to her about it. Then J comes home I tell him what happened. The first thing we talked to the kids about was not taking money from other kids. If Monkey wouldn't have taken the two dollars from that boy then this wouldn't have happened. We explained to the kids that the money their friends bring to school is really their mom and dad's money and not their friends to be giving away. We asked Monkey if he asked for the money and he said no the friend just gave it to him. Which is nice but still not appropriate for first grade. As we were talking to GG on the way to church it came out that this Rachel is bullying her into doing what she wants to do. For instant at recess if GG wants to play at the playground and Rachel wants to jump rope she will say jump rope with me or I'm going to tell the teacher on you. This just breaks my heart. This girl was in GG class last year and we had problems with her doing these same type of things which the teacher was made aware of and it was handled. She has changed her angel this year though. It is very frustrating.

This morning we go in and the teacher didn't get my message so I have to explain everything that GG told me. Then GG came in and the teacher asked her questions and she answered them honestly. Then her teacher said something about talking to Rachel's mom when she got there and GG started to change her story. She said, "I didn't see her take my money so maybe she didn't" Where as yesterday she was sure of it. I could see the fear come across her face that her friend was going to be in trouble for stealing money from her and the first grader. Which this morning came out that GG show her take the 50 cents and that Rachel was bragging about taking the money from the girl. GG started crying because Rachel is friends with her best friend Crafty which is Rachel's only other friend, wonder why? She told me that Rachel wasn't going to let her play with Crafty if she gets in trouble. Both me and her teacher told her that Rachel needs to have consequences if she did steal her money and that GG was doing the right thing. I walked out of the school today wanting to bring GG home with me but I know she needs to be at school. She is a strong girl. Her teacher told me that GG gets along with everyone in the class and she has lots of friends. Her teacher was very great this morning and so kind and caring with GG. I really appreciated that.

On a lighter note: I was sitting on the couch typing this post and I noticed Peanut having the I'm pooping face. I grabbed her pulled her diaper off and put her on the potty where she pooped and peed! It was too cute I had to take pictures. I have not decided to start potty training her but I would like to get as much of her poop in the potty as possible so it doesn't stink up the house! Here are the pictures I took of her being a big girl :)

Isn't she cute?! She started peeing when I took this picture :)

Weekend Wrap UP.

I mainly want to write about Monkey's new experience. On Friday we went to the night swim. Monkey had been talking about going off the diving board for about 2 weeks now. I have told him he needs to be a bit stronger of a swimmer and that we will keep practicing and when J and I think he is ready he can go. Well, Friday night at night swim he was doing great in the 5' water. He doesn't even hold his nose when he goes under water. J asked if he wanted to try the diving board and he said yes. J jumped first and stayed in the water for security for Monkey. He tried about 3 to 4 times on Friday night. He would walk to the end and then get scared and walk back off. He was so upset with himself because he really wanted to go off. We told him we would go swimming Saturday and he could try again.

Saturday morning a friend called and asked if we could watch their two girls. We took all 6 kids to the pool and they had a blast. The best part about the day was that Monkey went off the diving board. He can read J's perspective on him jumping off the board here. We swam for a little over 2 hours and then we took the girls home. A funny thing happened on our way out. I asked J if we had all 6 kids. These two ladies looked at each other and whispered, "She has 6 kids?" I just laughed inside and didn't say anything. Then yesterday at church the mom of the girls said that the youngest woke up that morning saying she missed me. I thought that was so sweet. We are actually headed to their house for a huge play date with the gals from church.

Late Night Girls Night.

Last night I got to together with 6 other girls from church. We went to a sushi steak house. I've never tried sushi and I actually didn't even know what it looked like. Needless to say I'm not a big fan of sushi, I did try it but didn't love it. The atmosphere at the restaurant was so cool. The cook put on a show and was very entertaining. The first thing out of his mouth after looking at all of us was, "It's my lucky night!" Dinner was very fun. Afterwards we went back to Justy's place and watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I loved that movie the first time I watched and it was just as good this time. I left my house at 6:30pm and I got home at 11:45pm. When I walked in the house Peanut was screaming. I asked how long she was upset and he told me since 11pm. I asked why he didn't call I was only 5 minutes from home and I could of come sooner. Well I guess me being gone totally threw her off because I couldn't get her to sleep until after 2am. She stopped crying as soon as I picked her up but all she wanted to do was play with me. It was so sweet that she missed me and wanted to play with me but I was so tired.

Then this morning J gets up for work (7am) and I hear Red with him. So I go back to sleep. J left the house and seriously 5 minutes later Red was in my room asking for fruit snacks. I was less than happy with him for waking not only me up but his baby sister who had only been sleeping for only a few hours. I was grumpy because those 5 hours were not straight hours of sleep. I nursed the baby at least once if not twice. I really can't remember I am tired, but it felt like I nursed her a hundred times last night. Moving along, I got up to get him quite and something to eat to find he had spilled GRAPE JUICE on our little brown carpet. He got in trouble just yesterday for drinking in the living room and spilling it and it was WATER. So instead of quickly taking care of him and going back to sleep I had to try and clean the carpet. I didn't do very well as there is now a lite purple stain instead of the dark purple stain. So I want to throw it out there since you were all so helpful in helping me get the pink nail polish out of the carpet. How do you get grape juice out? Please help I really don't want to replace it nor do we have the money to do that. We are also looking to try and sell within a few years and trying to maintain a nice house while living here is rough. After spending an eternity scrubbing at it and the rag not having any more purple on it I call it quits and go back to my bed with the baby and try to get a morning nap. I gave strict orders not to come into my room. They were watching cartoons and the two older ones know how to get themselves breakfast. It took me a good 45 minutes (8:50am) to get her to settle down and fall asleep and as soon as that happened. My OLDEST comes into the room with my cell phone saying the battery is low and it's beeping. Sure enough she woke Peanut up. Nice little 5 minute nap she got. I just don't understand why after I told her I was trying to sleep she would bring me the phone if it was beeping. Does she like to sleep while things beep every 5 minutes. Frustration. I then went and tried to make my self a little more clear to the kids to under no circumstances are they to go in my room, unless someone was bleeding that is. By this time it is about 9am, it's still morning and I could still get some sleep, right? Once again I get her settled down and to sleep. This time it only took about 20 minutes for to be in sleepy land! And I fell asleep too. Only to be woke up by a blood crudding scream from the living room I look at the clock and it is 10:30am. I got at least another hour. I was happy for that hour but not for the way we got woke up. Since I have been awake I have gotten the kids and my self breakfast. Apparently the cartoons being on made them not want to eat. Oh yeah and I typed this post, I'm productive!

Blessed.

I feel overwhelmingly blessed. Yesterday we went to church and then went to my in-laws house for the afternoon. I just love being with them and having the kids get to know them. Then we went to night church were I was in a skit. I was so nervous but I guess it went ok. Only one more week of these skits. After church we got invited to a friends house. It ended up being everyone except two people from our small group, plus our kids. We had a blast and the kids loved hanging out with the church kids some more. While we were at their house we got a phone call saying that my sis-in-law was at the hospital. She is on a youth trip this week in Kentucky, I believe. As soon as I got off the phone and relayed the message to everyone there we prayed for her. About 20 minutes later got another call saying she was being sent home from the hospital. They needed to watch her to make sure she doesn't have a concussion.

Another happening: While we were at our friends house a little girl pinned Monkey down and kissed him on the lips. This little girl was at the party on Friday and was taking to playing with Monkey over the other little girls there. Also Friday night she was at our house while her parents were on a date and she wouldn't play with GG at all, she was glued to Monkey. This little girl is only 6 months younger than Monkey so they are closer in age but the last two times she was at our house before this she only played with GG. What can I say he is a handsome little boy :) Not to mention very fun to play with!

Yay! We're DONE.

Can you tell, at all, that I am excited that the garage sale is over??? We did quite well in my humble opinion. Yes, I just typed that out instead of using the abbreviation. Now we just have to figure out what to do with ALL the stuff we have left. There is still a ton in our garage.

GG and Red went to a beach birthday party today and it was really fun. It rained this morning and was looking like it wasn't going to be a good day but by the time the party started it was so nice out. The kids had a great time playing with their friends and I, of course, had fun socializing! I love being the mom :) I feel so blessed to be surrounded by great friends and family. And I just talked to my sis-in-law and they are planning on moving here way sooner than we thought and I am super excited about it. A cousin for the kids to actually have around. Well I need to go practice my part for the skit tomorrow night at church. I feel like there was something else I wanted to get down on the good ole blog but I can't think what it was at this moment! I need me some sleep.

Peanut's Check up and Garage Sale

First, I took Peanut to the doctor yesterday evening and my chunky baby weighed in at 19lbs 6 oz that is the same size GG was at 12 months :) She was 30 inches tall which is taller than her sister too. Also she is getting her first tooth. I can feel it better then I can see it. The tooth is coming in but it hadn't broken the skin yet. She pulled herself up to standing last week. I was going to blog it but totally forgot. It was cool because both J and I were there to see her do it for the first time by herself!!! She is also getting on her knees and rocking but when she wants to get places she still army crawls. She's definitely got her own style.

As for the garage sale. The only reason we have all this stuff is because last year our church had a garage sale and all the money went to a missions trip to Honduras. So thinking they would do it again we started saving the stuff to donate and then were told they would not be having another sale. We decided that all the money we make we are just going to donate to missions as that was the plan all along. Another lady from church dropped off a bunch of stuff, she had been saving it for the church sale too. And the kids are having a lemonade stand which teaches them about money. We have talked to them about what they are going to do with their money and GG said she wants to give it to missions at church. The boys haven't really said but I have a feeling they will follow suit. Here is a picture of the kids at their stand.
Aren't they cute? Would you buy from them?

Here is Peanut helping them attract people!
I am taking Monkey and Peanut to a friends for lunch and a play date. Tonight we are watching two girls from church while their parents go on a date.

Here is Monkey going on the water slide at our friends house.

What a day, for lack of better words.

I mentioned yesterday that we were getting together with some friends from church. Well the plan was to go biking or swimming but the weather wasn't cooperating so we opted for Chuck E Cheese. That was fun but the food well lets just say it isn't the greatest. I'm such a sucker too. J wanted to play golf today and both people he was going to play with fell through do to different reasons and so I let him take GG on a date to golf. I really hope she is having fun! The rest of us just stayed home because the boys didn't want to go swimming. We played the Wii and now they are watching American Gladiator.

Other than that I feel like such a bad mother today with Peanut. She takes naps on our bed and she normally makes sounds when she wakes up and I go get her. Well today I heard a "Whaa" thud and screaming. As soon as I heard the whaa I was up and headed to the bedroom and when I heard the thud I was running. She seems to be okay but man did that really scare me. She had a red bump on her head. Then about 10 minutes ago I was nursing her while Red was brushing my hair and when he got done he threw it and hit her in the head while she was nursing. Good thing she has a hard head. Poor girl. It stinks to be the 4th. I think I am going to have to wear her more, oh wait she was in my arms the last time she got hurt.

Our 4th of July!

First I hope that everyone had a happy, safe and exciting 4th of July. I know ours was jammed packed with fun! The only down side was GG got another migraine and threw up. This is the 3rd time in 6 months and I am getting really concerned. I've already taken her to the doctor once for this and I am going to take her again, because she is too young for this. Anyone out there have kids with migraines? Back to our day...first I got everyone up and ready for the parade, the three older kids were in the parade. They rode in the cop truck with daddy and I got a couple pictures of them but I'm not posting them. But here is Peanut watching the parade :) She's sporting red, white and blue with stars.

Then we had to leave the parade early to meet my dad and step-mom for lunch. Then it was home for the two little ones to get a nap. As soon as they woke it was to the fest for some rides. The older kids each got two rides. They all went on the swings which was Red's first year going on them and he was so cute to watch. Then he went on the Dragon rollercoaster and the other two went on Tilt-a-whirl with me. I also took Peanut on the big slide, she loved it! By the time we got done with the rides J was done working. We ran home grabbed our swim suites and off to a party we all went! We ended up getting home last night at 11pm. This year has been such a blessing to have J be able to watch the fireworks with us on the 3rd and then have him home at night on the 4th :) Here is another picture of the 4 kids from the 4th.
All three of the kids had the same shirt on which is the veggie tales shirt. I wished we could of found a baby size in it too.

The Baby loves water...

Peanut loves playing in the water and usually throws a fit when we take her out. She got to go swimming Friday morning and I didn't have my camera to capture all the smiles. I gave her a bath today and took two videos of her playing in the water! These videos captured the way she waves, splashes and sucks the water off her toes, and I loved it!

A few days ago I entered a photo contest for Mother's Day. I was not a finalist. There were over 400 blog entries plus I don't know how many email ones. It had to be a tough choice and I'm glad I didn't have to make it. But one of my blogging buddies is a finalist! So if you could be so kind to click HEREand vote for Flip Flop Mamma, she has no idea I'm asking for your help. Her little girl is holding her baby in a child size sling. It really is a cute picture! The voting ends Friday, May 9th.

We're back!

We went out of town to see some friends who moved to another state, their daughter was celebrating her first birthday. We stayed at the same hotel as them and went swimming. Peanut loved the water, except when the girls were screeching being loud. I forgot my camera so my friend let me take some pictures with her camera that she is going to be sending me. Anyways, it was great to see them and J and I went on a double date with the couple who have 3 girls. We got two sitters to watch the 6 kids in the hotel room. Of course, we took Peanut with us! I must say that I think I win "Mother of the Year" because I packed up the diaper bag for the movie and then left it in our hotel room. This is not a good thing when the baby has been pooping a lot to not have the diaper bag with you. As soon as I realized we didn't have it I started thinking of what I was going to do if she pooped. I told my plan to my friend and she came up with a different plan using a pad and gave me 50 cents. My plan was to get paper towel and put it on top of the poop and put the diaper back on her. This would of been great if the bathrooms had paper towels in them. I looked at the pad machine and they were 75 cents. So I hunt down an employee to see if they have any paper towels, he goes into the supply room and gets me some. I used some to clean her butt and some for the inside of the diaper and I was going to save some in case she pooped again. As I was putting the towel in the diaper she started to pee on her outfit. I quickly stuck some paper towel under her, but she had already gotten her outfit wet. No diaper bag = no extra change of clothes. The good thing was that the bathroom did have blow dryers, the outfit went under the dryer. I go back into the movie and tell my friend what happened and she laughed and said, "I should of gone with you." I replied, "Oh well it will make a good blog post!" About 10 minutes into the movie she pooped AGAIN! At this point she was tired and so J took her and put her to sleep. As soon as we got back to the hotel I changed her. Doesn't that scream Mother of the Year?
