Movin' on Up
I have seen so many cool looking blogs out there and I have had this blog with the same look for 5 years. Yes, I started blogging back in 2003! I needed a major face lift and so with the help of my brother-in-law we have a new look. I just don't know much about computer but I am learning slowly and having fun at the same time. I wish I liked learning back when I was in school. What do you think of the new look?

Randomness
Today we went to playgroup and when we got home we had a package. Inside was all of GG's books for this next school year. It is making me realize that the summer really is getting closer to being over. We looked through the books that she will be doing next year in school and I remember doing the math and reading in these books in 2nd or 3rd grade. My feelings about the books are mixed, I'm excited but sad because my baby girl, who is my oldest but still and will forever be my baby, is going to school full days. Moving along, Red kept dry at playgroup today and only had one accident so far today and that was at nap time. It was a hot day today and on a whim we decided to go to the pool. That is the beauty of having the pool passes we didn't have to worry about going only for an hour and 15 minutes because we didn't have to pay to get in ;) GlamorGirl went off the diving board for the first time today and she did AWESOME. The first few times J was on the side of the pool to help if she needed it but she didn't so from there on out she was on her own. She even went off the big slide in the 12ft 6in deep water. I have Bible study tonight and J is doing something fun with the kids he refuses to tell me about so I'll have to wait until I get home to find out what they did.
Just to clarify if you have read my blog before now, you have noticed I have changed the kids names. I have been doing a lot of thinking about my kids safety and the internet. I don't really want to explain my reasons or do I feel I need to elaborate on them they are my kids and I feel I need to protect them in this way. So my oldest will be referred to as GlamorGirl or GG for short. My second oldest will be called Monkey and my youngest will be called Red. When the baby is born I am thinking of calling her something like Baby Girl but I haven't completely decided on that one yet kind of want to meet her first. I know people have not liked this change and I am sorry, I hope my making the connections between the kids age and name is helpful.

Lately
I feel like I am always posting in the morning about what we did the other day then I have a whole day of stuff that happens! Usually by the time the kids are in bed I am ready for bed, gotta love the baby making energy level! Well I really don't want to do laundry tomorrow on Mother's Day so I just put a load in so that I can get it done tonight. Which leaves me time for updating. We had an extremely busy day. We got up this morning and made Mother's Day cards for grandma's. Then my dad called and wanted to go out for lunch. Right after lunch Monkey had a bowling birthday party which all the kids were invited to attend. Red was sleeping when we got there and woke up about 40 minutes later with all the retro lights going. I was standing right next to him when he woke up but he had no idea where he was and he started shacking. I have never seen him do that before so I held him and he stopped shacking after about 10 minutes of sitting on my lap. It was the weirdest thing. I felt so bad for him.
I want to take a minute to elaborate on this party. There were 5 kids that weren't relatives or mine at this party and not one of them had their parents stay. They just dropped off their 4 or 5 year old and left. I was amazed as was the birthday boy's mom. Well I actually would of left Monkey because I know this family really well but she had told me to stay since I didn't have a sitter for the other two. When the party was over and we were heading out the door this mom totally frantic (not from our party there was about 3 other parties going on at the same time) looking for her daughter. She was crying saying that all the kids from the party were gone and she didn't know where her daughter was she was a mess, I guess she was only 5 minutes late getting to the bowling alley. I didn't stay to see what happened but it just reaffirmed my decision to stay at or near a party especially if it is in a public place.
After that party was over we met our friend Amy at the Christian Bookstore because they were having sales and I had coupons that were going to expire. I walked out of there with great deals. I was excited and we got done shopping right in time to go to our friend Jackie's 30th birthday party. That was a fun time and J was able to stop by and grab a bite to eat and socialize a bit. We left at 7:45 were home by 8 gave the kids a quick bath because they needed it terribly! They were in bed by 8:30 which I am happy about, if you don't know their normal bedtime is 7:15 and they are usually out by 7:30 if not sooner. Now I am just waiting to switch the clothes over and then I can go to bed!!! Tomorrow is MY DAY! I already have a pile of goodies waiting for me to open and I will probably get more tomorrow at church! I just want to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mom's that read my blog :)

Family
Today after church we went over to my dad's house to see my aunt Judy, who is in from Cal., it is always fun to see her and of course my dad, step mom and Becky. It was a really good visit she was telling me about the journal that my grandma had kept. They passed away two summers ago. Very hard summer, my grandma was sick and getting worse by the day but my grandpa was as healthy as could be, he died 12 days after my grandma and I truly believe it was from a broken heart. Anyways my grandma's journal spanned 30 years of her life, what dedication. Judy said it was really cool to see the emotion of my grandma with each of her children being born and the love she had for my grandpa. She told us about love letters that they also found from my grandpa to my grandma. They got married their Senior year of High School in January and started a family. My aunt is the 5th child and my grandma was 23 when she was born. I was 23 when Monkey, my second, was born. They were married for 51 years (I believe, it was at least 50 because there was a party!)and had 7 children and 26 grandchildren it was always a huge family gathering everytime we got together. Just listening to my aunt talk about what my grandma wrote in her journal made me think that I really need to be more faithful in my writings on this blog. Sure it is online but it is still my thoughts and memories of our days together. One of these days I am going to start printing out the entries and make a book. Maybe one day my kids will read it while I am still alive but if not for sure when I am gone. I truly cherish every moment I have with my kids and family:)
In other news: We got the BIG dent out of the back of the van. Roberta had backed into something about a year after they bought the van and never got it fixed. So many people have pointed out the dent, so annoying. Actually yesterday as my friend and I were driving some dude rolled down his window to let me know that he did body work. Our windows were already down, unfortunately. The best part was that a guy from church had the tool used to fix dents and he did it for us for FREE!!! It isn't completely fixed by any means but it looks so much better.

First Entry!
Well I have started my very own web log. It has been a little frustrating trying to get the links I want to work but we will figure it out sometime soon, hopefully. Well lets see today GlamorGirl had a playdate with her friend Carlie. They had a lot of fun and GlamorGirl took an extra long nap! It was nice to get to catch up with Crissy (Carlie's mom). They moved to Rockford last year which was a bummer. But Crissy's mom lives in here so they visit us often! Then we tried something new for dinner and it was really good. After that we went to our last Parent your Toddler class. Yes, the class that made J, Monkey and I famous here. We were on the front page of the main newspaper. Well this first post is going to be short because I need to catch up on some much needed sleep from the weekends events. GG turned 2 on Friday and we had a party for her on Saturday. So I will try and keep everyone updated as often as I can but being the Mama of 2 sometimes 3 (meaning J) it might be a little difficult. A real quick side note we have finally found a Church that meets all of our families needs! What a blessing.
