They are so different from one another and I love them both. Today I had a conversation with each of them and they made me think about just how different they are.
With Red we were in the van running errands and decided to stop by a friends house.
And this was our conversation...
Me: Red, when we get to their house I am going to run up to the door and see if they are home. You and Peanut are going to stay in the car. If they are home I will come get you out.
Red: I don't think that is a good idea. You get me out. I come with you and if they are home we can go in and play.
In the van again with Monkey on the way home from school. He has a field trip tomorrow which J is going on. They are going to the nursing home two blocks away and are having the parents drive kids in their personal vehicles. At school Mrs. R told the kids they had to have their carseats with their names on them.
Monkey: Mom tomorrow when I go to school we have to bring my carseat in and it has to have my name on it. I don't want to put my name on my carseat, that would be silly.
Me: You don't have to worry about it because daddy is going on the field trip and your carseat will already be in the van.
Monkey: Mrs. R said if we don't have our carseats at school we don't get to go. (at this point almost in tears)
Me: Sweetie Mrs. R knows that daddy is going and that your carseat will be in the van it will be ok, you can ask daddy when we get home.
Monkey takes everything so literal which I have been told I did the same when I was a kid and I believe I still do at times. The boys are just so different and it isn't bad they are both very special to me. I'm sure the girls are going to be different from each other as well?!?! That will be fun to find out :)
There is a Rockin' Sling contest going on here. Go check it out but I want to win it :)

Holy Hotness...
Our air conditioner hasn't been working very well, as in it will kick on at 9am and run all day long until 1am and I don't even have it set low I keep it at about 76. Throughout the day I will go look and the temperature will be getting hotter in the house instead of colder. Basically it was time for a new unit. We priced 4 different places and then we choose one we trusted to do a good job, which they did. They came yesterday and got it all installed then ran air through to make sure everything was okay. Well there was a leak in one of the hoses, a factory defect, so we ended up packing a bag and heading over to my parents house around 7:30pm. There was no way we were going to be able to sleep in our house with the temperature being in the 80's!
I was just in the kitchen and I have decided it looks like a Farmers Market. On the counter top there are tomatoes, corn on the cob, potatoes, onion, head of lettuce, green pepper, bananas, apples, and nectarines. Then if you open the fridge there are cherries, strawberries, pineapple, a lime and watermelon. I guess you could say we love us some fruits and veggies!
Tonight it is in the high 60's with a nice breeze so we ended up opening the windows, after we just spend all that money we don't need to use it tonight! J took GlamorGirl on a daddy/daughter date to the pool and I have the two boys. We went outside and did a bag of pop it's we had left over from the 4th of July and our neighbor came over and brought us some sparklers and so we lit a box of those too. Now we are inside because it is actually chilly out and they are watching Tom Thumb.

My beaten up baby...
It all started Sunday, we were outside playing and Red walked into the garage to get a toy truck. He fell and hit the side of his head on the metal part of the garage door. He instantly got a bruise. Then Tuesday morning I was taking a shower and he was standing by the tub wanting to come in. Normally I would have let him but he just took a bath and I was in a hurry. He somehow slipped and hit his cheek bone and instantly got another bruise. Then today we went to the park to play and as we were leaving he was walking on the sidewalk and he tumbled forward. He got a goose egg bump on his forehead and he scrapped his nose all up and it is bright red like it is bleeding. So he is walking around with 3 big bruises and a scratched up nose. We went to Wal-mart and the lady behind us in line says, "He looks like he took a tumble." J says, "No he got in a fight...you should see the other baby!" His humor :) I'm just glad that he doesn't need to get his pictures taken for a few months. We haven't gotten Monkey's 4 year old pictures yet because he kept getting cuts and bruises on his face too. What is with my boys?!?!
I love the fact that these last few days I am able to open the window and get a nice cool breeze through the house. J cleaned the pool yesterday and then I filled it up so the kids are about to go swimming. Then I can get some reading done while sitting outside watching more like listening to them! Well that is it for now.

Who will be taller?
Monkey and Red were laying on the ground next to each other and I never realized how long Red is, I got out Monkey's baby book to see how long he was at that age and he was shorter. I think Red is going to be my tallest and GG is going to be my shortest. I thought that was interesting!
We ended up going to the game yesterday and staying for the whole first game. The kids had a blast and they were covered in mud. Today was another game and we went they got dirty but not as bad as yesterday. And this time I was smart and brought a picnic dinner so that when the game ended at 6:15 I just had to take them home, clean them up and then put them to bed. I can tell they are enjoying the time outside :) As am I.
GlamorGirl floored me the other day. She drew a picture on her magna doodle and said, "Mom, can you guess which Bible story I drew?" The picture had a couple of people and a wall. I, of course, said, "Joshua and the battle of Jericho." Her reply was, "No mom. It is Joshua and the battle of Ai. You see this is Joshua." So proceeded to tell me all about the battle that she learned during Bible class. I was just amazed at how much she knew and how accurate she was at retelling it.

Ok quick update! Since Red has been home...when I nurse him Monkey comes up to me and grabs my boob and says, "Mommy, I'm helping nurse Red." What a little nut :) Monkey and GG love him so much sometimes it is just a little too much. I was changing Red's diaper and Monkey drew a picture on the magna doodle for him, well he went to show it to him and got a little too close and hit him in the head with it. Monkey was shaking (he didn't mean to hurt him he just wanted to show him the picture he drew) and saying, "I'm so sorry baby Red" over and over again. Then today Red was sleeping on the floor in the living room and I was sitting right next to him. Monkey brought the pitcher of lemonade to me so I could fill up his cup. Well after I got the cup filled up Monkey decided that he was going to climb on the rocking chair and ending up falling off and knocking over the lemonade. Needless to say Red got woke up by a nice ice cold bath of lemonade. So Monkey helped me give Red a bath and he kept kissing him and telling him he was sorry. He isn't even 2 weeks old yet and it seems Monkey is always saying sorry to him for something. So those are the stories of my two boys. This next story is just down right silly and I still crack up every time I think about it. Before bed a few nights ago I was reading stories to all three kids. Monkey had picked out a wordless book so I had him tell me what the pictures were on each page. One of the pages has a picture of a bucket. When we got to that page he said, "Bucket. Mommy a kid a the park kept calling me bucket." I looked at him and said, "What?" He said, "My name isn't bucket but the kid was calling me that." I asked him what his name was and he said his name minus the r sound. J was sitting in the room with us and said that when we were at the doctor's office the day before the doctor asked Monkey his name and the doctor repeated back to him Bucket. I was busy with Red when this was going on so I didn't hear that conversation but it just made me laugh and laugh. Who in their right mind would name their child Bucket??? It is one thing for a kid to think that but an adult, the doctor never asked J to clarify his name. It was just too funny so now Monkey has a new nickname which is...you guessed it BUCKET! He thinks that is pretty funny, a lot better then the first time when it made him sad the boy was calling him that at the park. Ok that is all the silliness I can handle for one night.
