I was making dinner and Monkey was helping me keep Peanut happy. I had to stop dinner to get the giggles on video! I just wish it wasn't so dark on the computer the camera looked fine...

My boys
They are so different from one another and I love them both. Today I had a conversation with each of them and they made me think about just how different they are.
With Red we were in the van running errands and decided to stop by a friends house.
And this was our conversation...
Me: Red, when we get to their house I am going to run up to the door and see if they are home. You and Peanut are going to stay in the car. If they are home I will come get you out.
Red: I don't think that is a good idea. You get me out. I come with you and if they are home we can go in and play.
In the van again with Monkey on the way home from school. He has a field trip tomorrow which J is going on. They are going to the nursing home two blocks away and are having the parents drive kids in their personal vehicles. At school Mrs. R told the kids they had to have their carseats with their names on them.
Monkey: Mom tomorrow when I go to school we have to bring my carseat in and it has to have my name on it. I don't want to put my name on my carseat, that would be silly.
Me: You don't have to worry about it because daddy is going on the field trip and your carseat will already be in the van.
Monkey: Mrs. R said if we don't have our carseats at school we don't get to go. (at this point almost in tears)
Me: Sweetie Mrs. R knows that daddy is going and that your carseat will be in the van it will be ok, you can ask daddy when we get home.
Monkey takes everything so literal which I have been told I did the same when I was a kid and I believe I still do at times. The boys are just so different and it isn't bad they are both very special to me. I'm sure the girls are going to be different from each other as well?!?! That will be fun to find out :)
There is a Rockin' Sling contest going on here. Go check it out but I want to win it :)

Siblings
Red loves Peanut sometimes a little too much. He gives her kisses ALL. THE. TIME. To the point where she has a wet spot on her head all day long. He has to know where she is and what she is doing all day long as well. It is very cute that he loves her so much but at times it can get a bit much. The other day I was nursing her and he came over and kissed her head like normal and then kissed my boob. He looks up at me with a goofy smile and says, "I kissed your nurse." He also likes to tickle her when she is laying on the ground. She has smiled at him a couple of times when he has done this, which is so sweet. Then there is the other side of it where he says things, for example, when she came home from the hospital and we changed her diaper. He saw the left over umbilical cord still on her and says, "I don't like her belly button, mommy." He also doesn't like when she cries in the van. He gets really nervous like and says, "It's ok baby. It's ok." We had to explain to him she doesn't like being in the carseat but that she is ok. I can't wait to see how their relationship blossoms over the next few months!

We just got cable internet a few days ago and it makes being on the internet so much faster. I can get on here and update my journal and be done. Anyways, my dad and step-mom just got back from Arkansas and want us to come over for dinner tonight so they can give the kids presents. So we are going over there for pizza!! YUM. The real reason I got on here was to write about GlamorGirl. This morning she wanted to play with her beads, she isn't allowed to play with them without mommy or daddy. So I told her that when Monkey took his nap I would play with her. If he was awake he would want to play too and the beads are really little. Anyways, when we were done Red woke up hungry so I nursed him. GG runs to get her baby doll Melody and says that she is hungry too. She sits down next to me and nurses her baby. While nursing Red pooped so he needed to be changed. While I finished nursing him GG got everything set up for me to change him...a new diaper, laid out the changing pad, and got the wipes. It was really cute. Then she grabs her baby and gets all her stuff ready to change her diaper! We have little cloth diapers for baby dolls. Everything I did or said to Red while changing him she said or did to her baby doll. It was really funny and super cute to watch. She is such a little mama. Then there is Monkey who wants to play with Red so bad he ends up startling him. He took the soft ball today and tried to play catch with Red...when he started crying because of the ball hitting his face startled him Monkey felt bad. All he wants to do is play big boy games with him, like he plays with GG. It is just so fun to see the differences in our children, it makes me love them even more for being them.

Well Red will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. J started back to work today and so far everything is going good. Dinner time will be the test :) Because J will not be here to help me. I will say I have really enjoyed having J at home, we have been able to get things done on our yard, take the kids to different play places, and he even set up our pool that the kids have played in a few times. Life with three is definitely more interesting!!! But I love it. And I know the kids do as well. Yesterday we went to Liz's graduation and the kids had a blast showing off their little brother. Ok that is it for now because I need to go......

Ok quick update! Since Red has been home...when I nurse him Monkey comes up to me and grabs my boob and says, "Mommy, I'm helping nurse Red." What a little nut :) Monkey and GG love him so much sometimes it is just a little too much. I was changing Red's diaper and Monkey drew a picture on the magna doodle for him, well he went to show it to him and got a little too close and hit him in the head with it. Monkey was shaking (he didn't mean to hurt him he just wanted to show him the picture he drew) and saying, "I'm so sorry baby Red" over and over again. Then today Red was sleeping on the floor in the living room and I was sitting right next to him. Monkey brought the pitcher of lemonade to me so I could fill up his cup. Well after I got the cup filled up Monkey decided that he was going to climb on the rocking chair and ending up falling off and knocking over the lemonade. Needless to say Red got woke up by a nice ice cold bath of lemonade. So Monkey helped me give Red a bath and he kept kissing him and telling him he was sorry. He isn't even 2 weeks old yet and it seems Monkey is always saying sorry to him for something. So those are the stories of my two boys. This next story is just down right silly and I still crack up every time I think about it. Before bed a few nights ago I was reading stories to all three kids. Monkey had picked out a wordless book so I had him tell me what the pictures were on each page. One of the pages has a picture of a bucket. When we got to that page he said, "Bucket. Mommy a kid a the park kept calling me bucket." I looked at him and said, "What?" He said, "My name isn't bucket but the kid was calling me that." I asked him what his name was and he said his name minus the r sound. J was sitting in the room with us and said that when we were at the doctor's office the day before the doctor asked Monkey his name and the doctor repeated back to him Bucket. I was busy with Red when this was going on so I didn't hear that conversation but it just made me laugh and laugh. Who in their right mind would name their child Bucket??? It is one thing for a kid to think that but an adult, the doctor never asked J to clarify his name. It was just too funny so now Monkey has a new nickname which is...you guessed it BUCKET! He thinks that is pretty funny, a lot better then the first time when it made him sad the boy was calling him that at the park. Ok that is all the silliness I can handle for one night.

Today was so nice because it was teacher appreciation day at school. They gave us each a sports chair with the school name on it and they made us lunch, with appetizers and dessert! The lunch was so delicious! Speaking of delicious it is really cute when Monkey says that word, usually talking about my food :) J told me the other day when he took GG to the store for Christmas presents and groceries, she was yelling at the top of her lungs, the song We Wish you a Merry Christmas. He said everyone looked at her and just smiled. I thought it was cute. Then when they were at the deli waiting she had the number J gave it to her, she looked at it and said, "I'm number 11, I'm number 11..." He said it was hilarious and I can only imagine it was given her spunky personality. Tonight at dinner time GG asked for something and said, "But I don't want to pay taxes." J just looked at her and she said, "You know taxes means money dad!" What a little smartie...where did she learn that?
This afternoon the kids and I went through all their toys, got rid of some and moved others into GG's room. In the afternoons they play with the toys while I do whatever needs to be done around the house. Some days they are best friends and others I have to go in there every two minutes, siblings! So from now on they are going to spend quiet time in their own rooms playing with their toys. Afterwards they will be able to play together. Hopefully this will solve this problem...
One more thing, I promise! Monkey has stopped taking naps so far this week. It is awesome he goes to sleep around 6:30 to 7pm and he sleeps all night long. Then GG goes to sleep at 7 to 7:15pm so J and I have time together. I really hope they don't change this schedule.

Lets try this again. It is official that I have my sweet GlamorGirl back because she said the same thing again this morning! Gosh I love that girl so much. I look at her and think to myself she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, the smartest little person I have ever known and she has the greatest personality of anyone I have ever met. I know I am a little bias...but it is so hard not to think that when everyone tells me the same things I think about her! I'm not only talking about family members when I say everyone...it is mostly non-family that give me compliments on both of the kids actually. Ok enough about that! GG went with me this morning because she had her "preschool" class. She painted and did a craft today, very excited to show daddy when he came to pick her up! J and Monkey got to work the same time I went to pick GG up and so Monkey stood at the window screaming, "Bay! Bay! Bay!" I love the connection they have with each other (at least today anyway!). Man I tell you Monkey's vocabulary has really taken off. He says new words everyday. He is learning so much everyday too. My favorite is that he is starting to sing songs! I love singing with them. This afternoon Monkey took a nap and GG watched a movie and I took a nap. I felt so much better afterwards. I was going to go to bed last night at 9 but I ended up going to bed at 10 because Swiper the fish died. I couldn't believe it. We bought him Monday and it died Wednesday. So we got our money back, which was nice. J thinks that GG's fish Princess is toxic and is making the other fish die so we are going to wait until Princess dies then get two new fish and start over. I have a feeling that Princess is going to have a long life too. Good thing Monkey doesn't really care. Lets see I believe that is about all I have to write about. Both the kids are playing with their micro machines! Soon it will be bed time for all of us :)

This morning we got up and I told the kids they were going to see Ellie. GG said, “She’s going to choke Monkey.” (Ellie likes to hug Monkey but usually ends up pulling him down to the ground.) Then she said, “But I will protect him so he doesn’t get hurt.” What a nice big sister she is. She’s already looking out for him! We all went to sunday school thing morning. GG learned about Abraham and Sarah. She also told us she liked singing the songs, of course! After church we went to see our friends the K's. That was so much fun and it just makes me miss all my wonderful friends at WIU even more. I think Aaron might be getting a job here. Then they will move here and that would be so cool. He has a second interview tomorrow. If he gets the job then Belinda is thinking of staying home with Ellie and we could have play dates all the time. Well I have to stop talking about this because we don't know what God's plans are for them. I just hope it is for them to move here! What would be real cool also is if Joe and Virginia moved here. (Hint, Hint) Oh yeah and having an extra hour of sleep last night totally rocked! The end:)

This morning we didn’t do anything interesting. J left for work and he left us a note on the bathroom mirror. It was real cute. This afternoon before I put Monkey to sleep, GG came up to him and said, “Give me five, on the side, up high, down low, you’re too slow!” The cool thing about it was that Monkey actually gave her fives throughout her game! They interact with each other so nice sometimes and then so bad at other times. I guess they are kids being kids! Monkey has also learned a hand thing. J taught him to put his two pointer fingers together, then you “cut the pickle” (his two pointers) then you tickle him. So he will come up to you with the two fingers together wanting you to cut them and tickle him. It’s too funny. Anyways, while Monkey was taking his nap my neighbor stopped by to see if we wanted to go to the park, since Monkey was sleeping, we didn’t go. I felt bad, but now I know it was a good thing because Monkey slept for 2 and half hours. (he usually sleeps for an hour!) I thought something was going on with him this morning when he woke up because last night he nursed almost the whole night. After his nap I noticed that he had a little fever, good thing I didn’t take him out in the cold. I want to keep him healthy this winter. He seems fine now…just wants to nurse more. (no problem for me) Then I talked to my mom and siblings on the phone for over an hour! It was good to get caught up with them. My phone conversations with my mom usually get interrupted by one of my brothers or one of my kids after about 15 minutes or less! Tonight we aren’t going to be doing much considering Monkey isn’t feeling the greatest. Just a side note, I’m really excited about, we got invited to a Halloween party on my birthday, which is Halloween. So if J is working I will have something to do with the kids. If he isn’t working even better we can go as a family. It is at the M’s…remember how cool their house is? I’m so excited.

This morning the biggest thing we did was go to the mall to pick up my wedding ring. I think I was the only one that had fun doing that :) We did get a phone call from our friends Kristen and Ethan. GG loved talking to Ethan even though Kristen and I decided that neither one of them were really listening to what the other was saying. She didn't stop talking and when I took the phone from her Ethan was talking! She told about everyone she saw today that she talked to Ethan on the phone. It was pretty sweet how much she misses her friends. I have a story that I didn't think was very funny at the time but here it is. I gave both the kids a cup of apple juice. GG drank her faster and wanted some of Monkey's. He didn't want to share so she took the remaining little bit in her cup and dumped it on his head. I was not happy with her. Not to mention that poor Monkey stunk like sour apple juice until I gave him a bath. His hair was stiff and crunchy. GROSS! I have another story that happened today with Monkey. After dinner he was standing still with a look of concentration. I asked him if he was pooping...I already knew that was what he was doing. I then asked him if he needed to go potty. He smiled at me and ran to the bathroom and started pulling at his clothes to get them off. He can't be ready to potty train at 14 months he is too young. I put him on the potty because he had already climbed up on to the step stool. He didn't do anything! Oh well I thought it was very smart of him to realize were the potty was and that he needed to get the clothes off to go! Well I have a Monkey pulling at me to play :)

Well this morning felt like we spent most of it in the car. All of us went into Chicago to get J a new handcuff case...the old one was too big. By the time we got home it was lunch time and then we said goodbye to J. My friend Kristen called today and Ethan wanted to talk to GG but she had just fallen asleep I felt so bad. I could hear him crying in the background when she told him she was asleep. GG really, really misses Ethan. I need to find her new friends and fast otherwise this move is going to be harder on all of us. While I was making dinner GG came running to me saying, "Mommy, Monkey is driving me nuts. Please help me. Make him stop!" I still don't really know what he was doing to drive her nuts. SIBLINGS! I do want to say that I love cooking in Roberta's kitchen. It is so big :) Lots of room for me to make messes, which I make lots of. Mom, I want you to know that I am learning to clean up after cooking unlike in highschool. I think not having J around those 12 weeks meant that if I didn't do it, it wasn't going to get done. For those who don't know I would cook and J would clean up after me...it was great.

Well today was J's last day at the hospital. It was long for us! We ran a bunch of errands, we went to the bank and got our mail held, to the hospital and then to the grocery store. We had a friend over for dinner and he is extremely allergic to garlic. So I bought a special meal for him. He is going to be making us a headboard for our bed. I am really excited about it. It is going to look so good. I did some more scrapbooking today. I have only 5 more pages to do and I will be updated!!! Then I will use the small room for the yard sale stuff. I already have a lot of things I am going to be getting rid of. It should make for moving a lot easier, hopefully. We shall see, right? Anyway the kids and I played outside for about 3 hours tonight waiting for J to come home. I am going to brag about Monkey now. He has started to do a few new things that I have forgotten to write about. He signs the word more. But it isn't for food like GG did. For instance he went down the slide and then signed more. It was really cute so I put him on the slide again. He also says the work gentle. We are always telling him to be gentle with us and GG that he learned to say it. I am tired and we have church tomorrow morning so I am going to go to bed.
