The Flip Flop Mamma wants to know what our favorite top things of fall are!
1. The color change of the leaves and them falling, so pretty.
2. Racking the leaves just so the kids can jump in them!
3. Trips to the pumpkin farm and apple picking.
4. Carving Pumpkins and making memories.
5. The warmth of the sun with the coolness of the breeze.
6. Fire pits at night.
7. Jeans and sandles or flip flops.
8. Doing homework outside with the kids.
9. Thanksgiving and starting to buy Christmas presents.
10. My birthday!

In Southern California, it is the smells in the air, like the morning's warmth and perfume that has a lasting gentle and fresh scent of summer's passing, fresh flower plantings in the garden and dirt!, growing herbs and the crackley smell of earth creating new forms throughout the landscape and falling leaves at dusk....
And, then of course, candles and more candles, like pumpkin spice!
And, cookies in the oven, and hot soup on the stove...
Oh yes, it is a season of immense GRATITUDE and reflection. I would say fall is about falling back in love with everything warm and traditionally good like family gatherings, buying new clothes for school, meeting new friends and loving longstanding buddies at your autumn barbecue with stacks of hay in sight, a good book to curl up by the window that displays God's glorious nature and I'd add romantic candlelight dinners--outside!!!

I LOVE fall. And I can't wait to get to the orchard for apple cider and cinnamon apple donuts. Mmmmm!
