Election

I'm not going to talk politics because I just really don't want too. I am just taken aback by how my people in there 60's and 70's that don't and aren't voting in this election. Those are the people we need to be voting because they have been here a lot longer then most of us voting and their opinions and votes count. I don't even care if they vote for the other person that I'm not voting for, I'm not telling because I don't want to start a debate :) I'm just sitting here saddened by this fact. I've talked to at least 4 older generation people who aren't even registered to vote. When I asked them why there aren't voting they said that they will be gone soon or that their vote doesn't count. Oy. What a stubborn generation those grandparents are! I did talk to my grandparents today and they are voting...I was very happy to hear that.

When my GrandDaddy was alive he didn't vote either...he said his one vote didn't matter anyway! I argued with him to no avail.
I most certainly WILL be voting!

Tonya,

I've intentionally avoided 'controversial' topics on my site--but the political mess is making my fingers itch too! I'm about done with the both of these guys, actually, I am done! I am registered, but neither candidate gets it, I wish they would talk to the older folks and understand lessons from long ago too. God help us. Vote? Yeah, but for who!

Anonymous,
I hear ya, but the reality is one of them is going to be our next president so I'm voting for the less of the two evils in my opinion. Someone else might view it a different way but at least I'm voting...because like I said one of them is going to be the president whether we like it or not.

I think every single vote is going to be very, very important this time around. Everyone needs to prayerfully consider the candidates and then VOTE!

I'm right there with you-vote people, VOTE! And yes-be in prayer about it. And to those of you who choose not to vote, don't even try and complain one iota over the next 4 years. You had your chance!

Ah, I'm feeling better as I descend off my soapbox. Thanks for a great post today!

I'm going to Vote, for sure. HOwever, I am seriously thinking of writing in a name. I feel very uncomfortable with voting for either one, I don't want it on my conscious that I helped put them in office. I voted for a third party in the past and they 'stated it cost the election!' Well, so be it. They learned didn't they? We must have real choice. I know I know, people say one of them will win. Yep, but when will the people of this country win? I am not a radical. However, I think we must revolt now and take back our country. The policies are not good enough and will directly cause harm to me and my family, and country. I will be really surprised if I choose to vote for either of them. Unconventional? Risky? Idealistic? Yes--but what if we all really voted for who really wanted versus two choices presented to us on a national level that costs "Billions of Dollars!" It is all makes me sick, indeed. I'm sure my sentiments are shared, and we all sift it out differently, but honestly, I so struggling this time around...

On the lighter side, here's who I'm thinking of writing in...

1. Porky Pig

Because that's all we will get with these candidates, lots of pork; and Porky Pig's famous words resonate with me now: "Dadadada That's All Folks!"

2. Wile E Coyote

Because like both candidates, they flip flop on their convictions therefore blow themselves up.

3. Bill Cosby

Because he cost effectively asks for my vote via mass email, and listed his views and goals to complete while in office(which I agree with)! He has also stood for actively taught at personal costs the need for families and individuals to take personal responsibility and accountability so that they may govern themselves (none of this entitlement stuff). Therefore, he is worthy choice...

All in all, it's only four years right--what can Porky Pig, Wile E Coyote or Bill Cosby get done in four years anyway?

Besides, God is on his way home to get us out of all this mess--And I'm sure of this--His timing and coming will be perfect!
