What's the deal?

I've almost been married for 9 years and tonight was the first time I burnt dinner. I was making manicotti for the second time and I forgot an important step in the cooking of it. To cover the pan before it went into the stove. Bummer. All the prep work and then stuffing the shells and it is not even edible. Little Ceasars to the rescue tonight, yum crazy bread!

Oh, I hate when that happens...all the time and $...wasted, oh well, bet ya won't forget to cover the pan next time!!! One time I grilled a whole chicken on the grill...tried slow cooking it, the kids were real young at the time...they called roast beef..."black buck, buck", and chicken..."buck, buck"...'cause the sound chickens make (I guess), well...when I brought the chicken in from the grill, I was sooo upset...it was burned!!! The kids all said..."hey dad, look mom made black buck, buck!!! Ugh...made for a good memory!

Oh bummer, sorry to hear about that. Thank heaven for pizza!

I had to order pizza last night too...but it was because when I went to cook, I realized that there wasn't actually anything in my house that my children would eat, and my husband was teaching a class and had driven our only car. Planning is apparently not one of my talents. :o) Sorry about the burnt food!

Hubby got sandwiches for us (I requested a croissant) and he came back with rye bread. I looked at him and said, "Really? Almost nine years being married, and you didn't know that rye is my LEAST favorite kind of bread?" But hey... it was a good laugh!

At least all was not lost . . . you did get some crazy bread out of the deal. ;-)

Oh me...I guess you can look at it as (Wow, I can't believe I have only burnt dinner once!) :o} I remember that I burnt a pan of white beans...I forget to check the wter level in the pot...GROSS-nothing burnt smells as bad as those beans.

Oh no! What a bummer, esp. after all that work! I probably would have cried out of frustration.

Okay...random thing...I was going to make manicotti the same night as you, and I biffed too! I didn't leave enough time to make it...got too involved in party-planning!

Oh, girl, I wish that I could say I only burnt dinner once in 9 years! I love your blog...your family is so sweet! And the fact that you are a babywearing mama--that makes you a peach!

Doesn't that just bite. I hate it when something gets ruined that you've taken the time to make from scratch.

Although there's nothing wrong with Little Caesar's. Think it's a staple in our house :)
